Description
Chipmunk Forum is a small yet flexible and fully featured forum system. It has unlimited categories and forums, staff only forums, read only forums, 4 levels of permissions. Smilies, word filters, BBcode, Ip banning, e-mail ban from registration and much more.
To install Chipmunk Forum
After unzipping the package:
1.Open connect.php and admin/connect.php and put your username, password, and database name for the mysql connection.
2. Open admin/var.php and edit the settings there to your liking.
3. Upload everything except upgrade.php and run install.php
4. Delete install.php(you must do this or your forum will be vulnerable to any hacker)
5. Now run admin/register.php and register yourself a head admin name(this is the file in the admin folder, not the register.php file in the root folder).
6. Go into var and edit $boardpath and set it to your board's path.
7. Delete admin/register.php and admin/reguser.php
8. Now go to login.php and log in and the link to the admin panel will appear at the bottom of the page(if you log in with a non-admin account, this link will not appear).
9. In the admin panel you can create categories, forums, define ranks and titles, etc.
To change the look of Chipmunk forums:
There is a stylesheet that controls colors and effects throughout the forum, if you want to edit the way the forum looks edit style.css .
To add the reply-only feature:
upload and run upgrade.php
delete upgrade.php
upload admin/edit.php and admin/addforum.php
upload reply.php and quote.php
Done!
